Answer:
Pineapple juice will temporarily relieve the pain.
If she wants it gone though, she's going to need some Grapefruit Seed Extract liquid, from the health food store. You dilute 10 drops in 6 oz of water, gargle and swallow. Yes, it doesn't taste very good, but it works well. Never had a sore throat here it didn't work for - whether bacterial, fungul, viral or just anonymous.
Don't baby her, she's 12! She can take the taste if she wants to get well. I have a daughter near her age, and she likes the taste of the GSE to living with a sore throat.
What we do here’s to brush teeth first, the children say that helps with the taste. Then, chase it with either the pineapple juice or grapefruit juice, something strong, but that tastes less nasty.
In many cases, the GSE gargle only needs to be done once to eliminate the sore throat. If it is still there, then she has the ability to do it again in an hour or so.

Answer:
Simply gurgle with hot saline water. If it goes to your stomach, don’t worry it will act as an expectorant & you’ll be able to cough out. Remember coughing out isn’t bad at all, it is rather good. If you’re a smoker, it will be stopped immediately. http://www.homoepathicdidi.blogspot.com.

Answer:
Easy!! Go to a health store and buy Colloidal Silver in the spray bottle and spray the back of her throat a bunch of sprays several times a day. It tastes like water(no taste) no odor and absolutely safe. I also buy the bottle that has an eye dropper to give to my kids under their toungues when it is cold season in the winter to help them be healthy. It is also great for getting rid of plantar warts ont he bottom of your feet. Simply put a few drops on a bandade and put on foot at bedtime for a few nights. Wart will disappear. Good luck.
Answer:
I've heard some warm honey works wonders & a bit of lemon juice in it helps too.
However, I've found that when anyone's ill in my house, we all just have a hot ribena lol Hot drinks & boosted vitamin C levels should sort her out in no time. Other than that, maybe a pain killer (children's dosage remember!) to sort out any aches & pains she may have (from all the coughing & the sore throat etc.)
Other than that, there's very tiny you can do except wait for the illness to pass over. If she's really bad and shows no signs of getting better, then she might need to go to the physician and get some prescribed medicine.
P.S: Yes, she needs to cough! Coughing is one of the ways that our bodies try to get rid of bad bacteria - since she has a cold, there's all sorts of bacteria or viruses in her throat & lungs, so by coughing, she's trying to get rid of them. It will hurt, sadly, but a pain killer should sort that out and a hot drink should soothe and open up the airways to allow her to breathe easier.
If she tries not to cough, it won't last long - it'll catch up on her eventually, with a vengeance! Drinking water to prevent her from coughing is just likely to make her choke or something.
Answer:
Aside from medicine, any cold substance such as ice cream or a popsicle can help to alleviate the pain.
Hot substances can kill germ cells, so tea and soup are an option. Green tea in particular is my preferred drink when dealing with a sore throat.
Sucking on something such as a lifesaver or small hard candy works too. The production of extra saliva and the constant swallowing of it causes the germ cells to travel to your stomach where they are eliminated in your digestive system.
Plenty of fresh air and staying hydrated will get her better in no time.
Remember to wash hands and keep them away from the face as much as possible.
Answer:
For Her Sore Throat:
Suck on Lozenges. If her sore throat is caused by a viral infection, antibiotics wont help it. But medicated lozenges containing might do some good. The phenol can kill surface germs, thereby keeping the invaders in check until your body has a chance to build up its resistance. And its mild anesthetic action numbs raw nerve endings so your throat doesnt feel as scratchy. These lozenges come in various strengths, so follow package directions.
Gargle Spirits. Sometimes I add a spoonful of bourbon or whiskey to a large glass of warm water and use that to gargle. Its just enough alcohol to help numb a sore throat. (you dont want to let her swallow it though)
If you dont want spirits then you could use saltwater
Increase fluid intake. Taking in as much fluid as you can will help hydrate the parched throat issues. Although it doesnt really matter what you drink, here are a few things you might want to avoid. THICK, MILKY drinks coat your throat and may produce mucus, making you cough and further irritating tissues; orange juice might burn an already inflamed throat; caffeine-containing beverages have a counterproductive diuretic effect.
For her Cough:
Sip Chicken Soup. a long-time folk remedy is now a proven fact. A cup of hot chicken soup can help unclog your nasal passages. Researchers found that hot chicken soup, either because its aroma or its taste, appears to possess an additional substance for increasing the flow of nasal mucus. These secretions- what comes out when you blow your nose or sneeze-serve a first line of defense in removing germs from your system.
Try cough drops and syrups. Look for a product that contains cough-supressing antitiussives such as dextromethorphan, diphenhydramine, or noscapine. These include Benylin and Conair cough drops and Robitussin cough syrup.
Menthol or camphor rubs have a soothing, cooling effect and might relieve congestion and help you breathe more easily, especially at bedtime. Apply Vicks Vaporub or a similar product to your bare chest, cover up, and get a good nights sleep.
Hope I helped.
