I’ve recently been treated with Reiki and since it worked so well for me, I have found some gemstones and crystals of my own. I am getting blended messages of how to clean them though. Some people state to wash them in cold water only, then others say to leave them in the moonlight. I would like to know what is the best way to “recharge” their properties.

Answer:
you can sanitize crystals by holding them under running water or holding them in the sea or salt water and also by placing them in salt but you’ve to take care with some crystals when you’re cleansing them as some are more fragile than others and certain ways of cleansing can damage them. I usually leave my crystals in moonlight or place them on top of a big piece of clear quartz that i have as clear quartz has the capability to clean other crystals.

Answer:
I clear old energy from my rocks when ever I’m at a stream or river. If the current is gental, I place them in the water. If the current is strong enough to carry them away, I hold them under the water until I feel the desire to put them back into my pocket. It usually takes a couple minutes but it depends on how long you feel is needed.
After their clearing, I usually take time with every one, while I am still close to the water. I think and some times talk to them about what they stand for and I what energies I will seek through them.
When I get home I leave them outside in the moonlight, when it's full(over night) or in the sunshine (till it starts to set).
Once I bring them inside, I focus on every one to feel the energies. I just relax and let them express their type of vibe. Either you feel success or not. If not then you can repeat the process.
In my experience, not all rocks are willing to change their natural energy. I’ve one that only wants to be protective (amber) and one that just wants to be friendly (found on vacation).
I have burried a couple of rocks in tiny jars of salt and held them under running water in the kitchen sink. I didn't feel a strong connections but would do it in a pinch.

Answer:
I've only heard of leaving them in moonlight but i know you have to be careful that they compliment each other……………

Answer:
I think plain old fashoned washing up liquid would do the trick.

Answer:
How about both, then sit on them until the tiny dragons hatch

Answer:
Do both. I understood it was sunlight though so I tend to leave mine out for 24 hours
