Tramadol or “ultram” and Valium is a benzodiazapam are two different classes of medications, tramadol is traditionally used for pain relief and Valium is traditionally used for anxiety or a muscle relaxer. It depends upon the use and what it is intended for. Tramadol has other side effects than pain relief that the manufacturer is trying to get it approved for , like it gives you a happy feeling of well being, valium takes away a stressful anxious feeling or will take away muscle spasms.

The next higher pain killer from Tramadol is Morphine…..I have been put on patches and they make me feel quite sick at times…..I don't know which is best the Tramadol plus pain or Morphine and feeling sick…. I cant win… Getting back to your question Tramadol is for pain…. Valium is a tranquiliser not a pain killer..
