I want to take it for it's reasons (vomitting, speeding up my metoblic rate), but it's not necessary, aka. i don't need it prescribed to me because I'm not ill in that way.

Answer:
Ipecac has been used by individuals with bulimia nervosa as a means to reach weight loss through induced defensive vomiting. Repeated abuse is believed to cause damage to the heart, which can ultimately result in the user's death.

Belle I’m getting increasingly worried about your mental health. Levothyroxine is a prescription only medication ONLY designed to be used under medical supervision for hypothyroidism.

You plan to use it to aid your pathological desire to lose weight. here it would risk producing osteoporosis and cardiac problems.

PLEASE GET SOME MEDICAL HELP.

Answer:
Dr Frank and I are both very concerned about your state of mind. Both drugs can potentially cause you serious problems.

Lets begin with Levothyroxine. If you take Levo and you don't have an under-active thyroid glad, it can be potentially life threatening. Levothyroxine is taken by people to replace a lacking natural hormone; if thyroid levels become too high (this will happen if you take Levo when your thyroid levels aren't lacking) it will lead to hyperthyroidism and even a thyrotoxic state which can cause strokes, seizures and life threatening arrhythmia's-all of which can lead to a coma and death. Do NOT take Levo unless it has been prescribed to you for an under-active thyroid gland.

Next issue. Ipecac can indeed cause damage to the heart with repeated use. You need to seek help. the very fact you want to make yourself sick in order to lose weight, recommends an eating disorder. There are no exceptions, wanting substances to induce vomiting for this reason indicates a mental health problem that needs important addressing. Please see your GP as soon as possible.

Answer:
The people who are giving you accounts of SERIOUS problems due to either taking excess thyroid medicine or of having hyperthyroidism are NOT kidding. You might “not be ill that way” but you’re DEFINITELY mentally ill (and deeply stupid) if you would 1) even think about taking a prescription that was not prescribed for you, and 2) consider taking a prescription(s) that could injured you so intensely, so permanently and so swiftly. Time to grow up, little girl and stop looking for the simple way out of things. Hormones, especially thyroid hormones, are NOT something for the uneducated lay person to mess with. EVER. This is why doctors go to school for more than 8 years, duh.

Answer:
yes it would be very dangerous. vomiting causes electrolyte imbalances in the blood and levothyroxine is a perilous prescription only medication for people with hypothyroidism. ive seen people end up in hospital because they’ve taken too much levothyroxine by mistake (and these are people who actually need to take it). look it up on wikipedia to find out about its effects (not side effects, actual effects). the only way to effectively lose weight is by regular cardiovascular exercise and healthy eating. maybe you should see your doctor if you are becoming weight obsessed

Answer:
Hyperthyroidism is a serious disease that you will get if you take too much thyroxine. It is hazardous. I would prefer have been overweight than suffer with thyroid problems. The fatigue is unbearable.

Perhaps taking up cardiovascular exercise and eating a healthy sensible diet might be a better option.

Besides I was diagnosed with Hypothyroidism and I’m and have always been a size 8 so it doesn't always lead to weight gain or loss.

Answer:
You want to take it to loose weight then., very bad idea.
Hyperthyroidism is what you will get - and this will make you loose weight but will also make you loose your eyesight and your eyes will become google like.

Eat less fat and exercise more - then you'll loose. Its hard but worth it.

Answer:
yes yes yes if you’re not sick you should not take medicine
