my dad is quite elderly and has to have an operatioin on a hernia in his groin, and im looking into other methods that may help / speed up his recovery, ive been hearing great things about arnica just wondering if there’s anything else you would recommend / suggest. either pre op or post op
thanks in advance

Hi there,
Yes…Arnica tablets and cream are great. What you should do, is get some Arnica tablets from a health shop and tell him to take the prescribed dosage, for at least a week before the 'Op'. Not only do they cut down bruising, they’re also natural. You can also get Arnica cream, which will be good to soothe and heal the wound post-op.
You could also try Propolis cream, which I recently found and have used. It has marvellous healing properties and is also natural, (comes from Bee spit would you believe) but is breathtaking!!
Hope this helps, best wishes for your Dad's 'Op' and nice to hear you’re thinking of him using 'natural' help remedies. I'm convinced they work best!

Answer:
Yes I would .
Purchase some Arnica 30c and give him a tablet each 2 hours AFTER his surgery for 3 doses then 1 tablet daily for a further 3 days.
That should do the trick.
No need to bother with arnica cream if he is having the remedy orally.
Good luck

Answer:
He will have to wait until the sutures have healed before he has the ability to use arnica. It states not to use on cuts and abrasions.
