Weight training DOES in fact affect your height during early teen years.
It stunts your growth if your begin before, or early puberty. I recommend starting to workout after your around 2 years into puberty. I started working out at 15 so don't rush.

It's due to the lactic acid build up. When we work out we actually break down or tear muscle fibers releasing lactic acid. the lactic acid build up ends up making you sore.
In order to help alleviate( but not totally) this effect try supplementing with Glutamine. Cheap and effective.
