Hi there

I have a very small chip on one of my front teeth.

My dentisit stated I have 2 options: either fill the chip in which does not last very long or file the 2 front teeth down slightly to even it all out. He said they would only need half a millimeter filed off.

I dont like the appearance of my front teeth because they stick out slightly and are slightly longer than the other teeth so I feel that I look like Bugs Bunny lol!

So I quite like the sound of getting them shortened slightly.

I should have wore a brace when I was tiny but my mum kept forgetting to take me to orthodentist appointments so it didnt happen.

When I was younger I had my chip filled in and it fell out a few years later.

Anyway if I have my teeth filed down it might improve the bugs bunny look but im worried that this will seriously damage my teeth (even though a dentist has recommended it)

Has anyone out there had there teeth filed? where you happy/unhappy with the results? are your teeth really sensitive now

Answer:
I haven't had any at the front filed but I had a chip or two at the back left done. It was easy, quick, painless and I've had no ill-effects - and I think if it's going to be as tiny as half a millimetre(!) anyway, no-one else will even see the difference, in all likelihood. Get it done by all means.

It's never too late to have a brace, either, if your choppers are really bothering you.

Answer:
My two incisors were fang like. I could imitate a vampire pretty good. I requested they be filed down and I’m happy with the results. It didn't injured to have it done and didn't take any time. So, I suggest that option.

Answer:
Yes, I also had a chip filed down. No massive deal, doesn't hurt a bit, and the result looked great. No sensitivity. Go for it!

Answer:
Odd. He should have given you more options.

1. Crown

2. Lumineers

3. Veneers

4. Filling (resin)

I would get either a crown done or a veneer.

Veneers are costly but painless.

Answer:
ow i feel that when they filed down my teeth for my braces it injured badly. well i was 9 when that happened soo might not injured to you

Answer:
I've never had it done but I would go with the file.
