I'm a university student in the UK and I was wondering how I can get free dental care with the NHS? I like my teeth but can't afford these bloody treatment costs!
Answer:
Hiya,
im not sure if different NHS practices have different guidelines but i will tell you about my dental practice in Oxford…..I went to the dentist today
I know the price is really off-putting, but i would go sooner than later. I hadnt been for 10 years and am paying the price! Had i gone sooner maybe i wouldnt need as much fillings!!
When i was uni, i remember there was a free dental clinic on site, the reason it was free was because trainee students were practicing and needed some volunteers…this can be ok if you just go for a check up but i wouldnt let the students put fillings or anything else in!
Ask your dental clinic because i may be mistaken, but this is what i was told today.
Goodluck!
Answer:
You can pick up a form from your GP (I think it's called a HC1). Fill out out and send it off and you will get a certificate for free prescriptions, dental care and eye treatment (HC2) as a student.
