My friend was told by his fitness teacher that each cup of green tea you drink burns 200 calories. This to me seems a tiny strange. If it were true you could pig out on ice cream and just have 5 cups of green tea to get rid of the calories. Is there any truth in this?
Answer:
You're right. This trainer is thumb-sucking his information. The problem is that most fitness trainers have very limited nutrition knowledge.
There's a problem with quoting a set figure for calories burned due to green tea. Green tea itself does not burn calories. It merely makes your body more efficient at glucose conversion and not storing energy as fat. It helps metabolise fat and oxidises fat
So all green tea does is amplify your bodies capability to burn fat. That will vary based on your diet and activity level.
Green tea is an aid, not a stand-alone fat burning solution.
And it isn’t a diuretic. There’s a lot of good research that proves it is a good fat loss aid.
I actually find it astounding how so-called medical professionals can know so little about these things. Perhaps since they've been medical professionals for so many years they should look at some more current research.
Answer:
well, first of all. green tea doesn't burn calories, friend. its a diuretic drink. that's means that it gets rid of liquid that's in your body. i don't know why people still think that(that it burns body fat) . but, its great to get rid of that extra harmful liquid that's in your body. and great for high blood pressure. i drink it sometimes, the bad thing is that it makes me want to pee all that time!!! and its hard to find a loo sometimes! LOL!!
Answer:
No, I don't think this is right. Some people do believe that green tea does raise your metabolism though, but to 200 calories seems a bit much. What I do find when I drink it, is that it decreases my appetite, so I am likely to eat less.
Answer:
thats not entirely true
it just increases metabolism which leads to burning calories
it depends how much weight you need to lose to figure how much calories you’ll burn
everyone is different
Answer:
Its meant to help increase metabolism, so you can burn more, but their is no definative answer as too how much
Answer:
No, that's complete rubbish. Green tea is however full of antioxidants, so it is nice to drink but it won't aid in any weight loss
Answer:
I’m afraid it is more than strange it is poppycock!
