I've been trying to do this for the past 2 weeks with no luck at all. At weekends I am able to get up at 6am for a run no problem. During the week I begin work at 7, so to give me time to commute, shower and all the rest I need to be up at 5am but I can't get up. I have set the alarm at the far end of the room and while I get up, I just turn it of and jump back in bed. HELP!!!
I don't want to go at night as I am concious about my weight and wouldn't want people seeing me.
Answer:
set your alarm and rise and shine !
Answer:
I guilt myself into waking up. I wake up at 5:20 and there are some days where I don’t want to get up but then I just nag at myself “Get up, you aren't going to lose weight if you don't exercise. Working out in the morning is the best way to lose weight.” etc.. Whenever I do work out in the morning, by noon I’ve already forgotten I woke up 40 minutes early, I feel fine and I get to be proud of myself. Supposedly, you burn more calories throughout the day just from working out in the morning, and it kickstarts your metabolism. It sucks waking up that little bit early, but the feeling you get afterwards will be worth it. If you don't want people seeing you and don't want to wake up early, think about buying a treadmill and run in your apartment/house.
Answer:
well we all have problem waking up in the morning if you are not a morning person. You seem to have your alarm so close to you that you choose to push that snooze button once you feel reluctant to get up. This is what i do, i have two alarm clocks one close to my bed and the other is in the next room and is pretty loud, now whenever i get up to go turn off the alarm in the other room i just cant seem to take the loud noise anymore that i automatic feel awake and cant go back to sleep. I have been doing this for a while now and it works perfectly for me, so just try it.
Answer:
sleep with you bed near the window and the shades open. The natural light will help wake you up.
Set your alarm clock for when you want to get up and put it in the hallway outside of your room. Set the volume to LOUD. This way you have to get up to close it off. Once you are up, STAY UP!
Another option is to get an exercise buddy who is a morning person. Have them show up at your home at 5AM. Knowing someone is coming over will motivate you to get up.
Even superior, get a paper route. That way you will be up early AND walking and making money!
Answer:
okay…
i learned this in my psychology class.
1.go to bed (early preferably) and wake up at the same time each night, including weekends
2.if you don't fall asleep within 20 minutes, get up and do something boring until you’re exhausted.
3.no eating for like an hour before bed.
4. no naps. try. if you must, 10-15 minutes only.
and this is a personal trick. put your alarm clock on the other side of your room. this way you can't roll over and push snooze. you’ve to get up first
(C: good luck!
Answer:
you just have to want it bad enough! Get it in your mind that you ARE going to go excersize, and when you wake up, just do it. If you’re feeling lazy you aint going to go, there's not much you can really do but want it bad enough…where you walk the walk and not speak it so much. It's much like quiting smoking…there's a lot of help out there, but unless one really want's to quit bad enough, the help is just an aid, not a cure
Answer:
As long as you get 7-8 hours you should be fine. If your getting up at 5am, go to bed at 9pm. Doesn't have to be forever, once you get to the point that your comfortable with letting other people see you when you exercise, you can then move your training to the evenings.
Good luck anyway bud!
Answer:
yea try going to be earlier because waking up at 5 is much different then waking up at 6 its a whole hour loss of sleep, and if you cant get up like that, drink lots and lots of water before going to bed. Indians use to do this to make sure they were up early for battle the next day, seemed to work.
Answer:
you could purchase a treadmill, that way you can exercise at home where no one can see you, and when ever you want. also if that doesn't work for you, then try going to bed earlier.

I don’t know if you workout at a gym or run around the block. But, for me, I find it effective and swift to workout at home. I have a treadmill that’s helpful for circuit training. I do get up at 5:00am to workout- which is no problem because it is my goal to continue to lose weight and be toned and defined.
As always, diet and exercise are the key.
As for diet, try eating 6 smaller meals a day with a protein shake for breakfast and lunch. A single serving of fruit for mid-morning and mid-afternoon snack. Dinner should be a sensible meal- minimize rice and breads. Try this for a two-week period. Then, vary your meals accordingly.
Workouts should have weights and circuit type of training. Free weights are great for toning and weight-loss. You can try dumbbell squats with shoulder presses. Here is a great and effective circuit training using a treadmill. Walk for 2 minutes (as a warm-up), jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, then jog for 2 minutes, run hard for a minute, etc…do this for about 20-23 minutes. This works great and does not take long. Also, it is more effective than running around the block at a steady pace for an hour.
By the way, do not be a slave to scale. Check the mirror also. It will show results.
This is just a start. Keep working out and eating properly.
Good Luck.

i had this issue too. Firstly prepare anything possible in advance, so all you’ve to do is go and run ( ie lay out clothes, prepare a drink etc )
Set one alarm across the room, and once you get out of bed, DO NOT get back in. Say to yourself over and over '' don't get back into bed '' which might sound silly, but when you wake first you won't remember exactly why your alarm has gone off. so if all you remember is ' don't get back into bed '' you'll stay awake long enough to remember.
Even if you can't go running straight away, sitting down, or watching Television for 10 mins will give your mind time to catch up. and then all the reasons you want to go for a run in the first place will come flooding back, and you'll have all the motivation you need.
If you need another step, Set another alarm ( REEEALLy loud ) downstairs, so you’ve to turn that off too before you can go back to sleep ( this is more effective if there's others in your home who will be annoyed at you if you just leave it on ) Or even make yourself a biig sign that says '' Dont get back into bed '' And hang it over your bed.
90% of the battle is in staying awake for 10 minuets, then you'll remember why you wanted to get fit in the first place, and you'll be plenty motivated.
Answer:
Your issue is mind over matter. Either get over the insecurity about “people” seeing you at night or get up early. Which one is worse? At this point if you cant bring your self to do either, then your goal to workout during the week really isn't a priority.
You’ve to work this out and come to terms with what is your goal, why is that your goal then look at the action plan you set out for yourself. You have to basically convince yourself that this is the plan of action that will get you to your intended goal. Your ability to overcome this has a lot to state about your work ethic and how you perceive yourself. High Achievers don't care about what other's think of them. In that sense, I don't mean they lack emotional intelligence, I mean they don't grant their personal insecurities get in the way of their plan of action and they certainly don't make “excuses” why something can’t be done.
What you want to do and what you need to do are two different things. Work that out and then you'll have a break through in your workout and hopefully in other areas of your life as well.

Well coming from experience…….
i use to weigh 210 lbs and each night around 8 or so i would go walking. not running or anything just walking. i did that every night for 6 months and got down to 180. no lie i swear. im was just like you. i was not confidante with my weight so that why i did it at night. i got a membership at the gym and countinued to walk and lift weights and now im 160. i still felt a little selfconsious but i guess the only thing you really can do its suck it up. i alway thought ” these people are all here like me trying to achive a goal, which is to lose weight, get fit, get healthyer, etcalso it could be that maybe you dont goto bed on time which is why you dont wake up, or that your body just needs sleep!
another thing that helped now (cuz i get up at 6'o clock) is to find like a buddie to work out with. it motivates me to get my *** outta bed lol.
well hope this help.
Good Luck.
