ive just joined a gym.i want to gain muscle,i always need a drink with my dinner sumtimes snacks eg nuts,fruit,i do drink water but find it a little boring,but i want a drink that will not affect my muscle gain eg coke!lucozade,powerade wont go with some dinners,wot do body builders drink other than shakes,water?????

It's sounds like torture, but you need to elliminate sodas completely. I did it about 5 years ago, and it really wasnt too hard, especially now because I dont even remember what they taste like! I drink water all day, but when Im craving some flavor I go for orange juice and cranberry juice. Soy milk is also really good for you, but kinda gross tasting, at least in my opinion, so I only drink it with cereal. Oh and those flavored water drinks really arent worth it either. They have a lot of sugar and dont hydrate as much as plain water.

Avoid anything containing Aspartame (in low sugar drinks) - the jury is still out on this, but it was developed as an ant poison, so it is worth reading labels on soft drinks. There are concerns about its long term effects.

body builders do not drink soda!! they drink water, more water, then some more water! LOL also some drink milk, some drink skim milk. juice in moderation, try adding soda water to juice, its way better then soda pop, and you get the fizz too.
