I was ventilated for 10 days after bowel surgery **** up. I had horrific hallucinations during that time and strangely knew when other patients had died. Anybody else had experience of this
Answer:
You would have been on Morphine for the pain, Morphine causes hallucinations, in most people
It also heightens sensitivity to noise and smell.
There is nothing strange about this happening in icu, it regularly happens
Answer:
i will simplify this for you, patient in ICU means intensive care unit,he’s in need of special care,of course there is different categories cardiac ,post surgery as yourself, comatosed, head trauma etc etc,,during this period not all hallucinate unless they’re given strong medications or sedeatives ,hypoxia also influences the brain judgement which u were on a ventilator meaning your respiration wasnt steady on your own,u should be grateful u are out of the icu ,becoz a patient in an icu is considered in severe danger ,,
Answer:
no , but i've heard of these type of side effects. due to medicine . believe it or not benadryl in through the IV caused me feel as if i was running mainly because our bodies may be sensitive to some medicine that are not brought in the store and that are more powerful.
Answer:
