Does anyone know why this is happening and how to halt it?

Answer:
As posted above, you have all the symptoms of GERD-(gastroesophageal reflux disease).Normally when you swallow your food, it travels down the food pipe (esophagus) to a valve that opens to let the food pass into the stomach and then closes. With GERD, the valve doesn't close tightly enough. Stomach acid and juices flow from the stomach and back up (reflux) into the esophagus (your throat). You really need to see a doctor but until then you can get some Prilosec over the counter (available at your local walmart). You really want to go ahead and treat this asap because that acid that’s coming up can do a great deal of damage to the tissue that lines your esophagus. Hope you feel superior soon.

Your welcome. Hope it helped. Report It

Answer:
It's acid reflux and doesn't have anything to do with your respiratory system. It is a regurgitation of the acid in your stomach. There are tons of drugs out there for this, some prescription and some OTC. Go to the physician to find out which would be ideal for you, but even the prescription ones like Zantac, Rantitidine and Prilosec are very cheap and work well. Avoid coffee, pop and spicy food. Also make sure when you sleep your head is propt up fairly high to avoid the acid from sitting in the laryngeal area while you are sleeping. This will help a lot! Good luck to you, I used to have this problem and finally got over it after giving up pop 100% !

Answer:
you’ve some sort of gastro-intestinal problem, such as indigestion or GERDs. you need to eat differently, blander food, and take an antacid. if you keep bringing up stomach acid, it can burn the lining of your esophagus. prevacid or something like that should help, but you might want to consult a physician before doing anything.

Answer:
No doubt,it is hyper acidity, more appropriately known as reflux oesophagitis, since you are throwing up sour and bitter liquid of high acidic media, in the mouth. If not treated, will result into gastric or duodenal ulcer.Stop smoking immediately if you do so,stop alcoholic drinks, fried and junk food, heavier foods which take longer to digest like meat, chillies and pickles tea and coffee. The home remedy is to take half cup of chilled milk 3-5 times a day sip by sip as if you are sipping hot tea.At this stage the treatment is easy.in consultation with your physician,Take 1 tab. of zantec300 empty stomach twice a day before meals.Reduce it to 150mg. after 10 days and after 4 weeks reduce it to 150mg once a day.you can stop it after another 2 weeks. In future if you get repeat of this problem after eating above mentioned items then just take 1tab.of 150 mg.1hour before consuming any of the above mentioned items and u will be perfectly comfortable.

Answer:
See your GP. If, as the first person to answer stated, it's acid reflux, there are a number of possible causes. One of the possible causes, infection with Helicobacter pylori, requires specific treatment on prescription. Other possible causes have other treatments, like acid inhibitors and these might also be prescribed if needed above a certain strength.

Answer:
