Dear Dan,

Well done for trying to combat the booze. Of course AA are the long-tine experts in this - have you asked them?

I'm in no position to comment about the tabs - if you're coming off alcohol you quite likely have a liver problem and need professional advice in this area - tranx also stress the liver to some degree.

Can you access herbal remedies? Not sure where you live, I know the rules are different in the US to here in the UK.

Yoga & meditation might also help.

It's an awful time for you, cos you need lots of sleep for your mind and body to heal. Please make sure you eat lots of fresh fruit & veg, cucumber and celery are especially good at detoxing the system. Try herb teas instead of coffee - nettle is especially good, it tastes a bit odd on its own but is nice with honey and a slice of fresh lemon.

And - Dan, love, you have now got a whole bunch of friends out here who really want to support you. You'll probably never meet us in the flesh, but we're still out here in - what is it? cyberspace? - like a flock of slightly odd angels……..

Anyway - all best wishes - you're brave enough to have taken the first steps, so I'm sure you'll get there!

Answer:
I don't know anything about the tablets, but just wanted to wish you luck.

If you can go out, I find a good long walk early evening helps to clear my head if I'm worried about anything and it might help you sleep, fresh air does wonderful things.

You can get through this, stay strong.

Answer:
its going to take sometime for your body to adjust to the medication and your body clock will be out if sync for sometime, you need something to help you sleep, something that concurs with you, and you might have to take a few different meds to find out which one is best for you!

dont give up,you will get there in the end…all the ideal x

Answer:
i have no advise for you mate but i want to wish you good luck as ive known people who have kicked out the booze and it aint simple so i hope it works out for you. as for your sleep do not take any sleeping pills because that is just subsituting on drug for another, just give it time and your body will adjust and hopfully you will go back to normall sleeping patterns

Answer:
i would avoid the tabs and tough it out, know its no simple ,been there, try some relaxation techniques before you sleep, dont stress when you wake up makes it worse to get back to sleep

Answer:
It would be easier if you cold talk to several experts about how they handled the same thing.

You will find many talkative experts at AA.
