My mom has recently had one and we’re waiting for results,she is 65.

Age isn’t the factor to order a tumor marker tests.
But since some cancers or tumors are age related certain tumor factors could be asked at a certain age.
So in some cases age could deside to ask for a certain tumor marker like, for example Lung Cancer. I'm not gonna ask or order lung cancer tumor markers in a 17 year old with cough. I would ask it in a 50 year old smoker with cough.

No - this test is done on anyone whom a doctor might suspect cancer.
