I had tonsillitis over a couple of weeks ago (i get it each year) and went to see my doctor. He gave me antibiotics and I've completed the week's coarse but I still have swollen glands in my neck and when I swallow, I can still feel it - it's not unbearable but still a tiny sore. The common symptoms are still there, headache, earache, swollen glands, fatigue the whole 9 yards! Recently I've woken up at night in a cold sweat and having to change my pyjamas as they’re damp! My only concern is that we don't have any of the radiators on and it's WINTER! Does anyone know what it could be? Please help?!
Answer:
Sounds like you could be running a fever .This is just your bodies way of breaking the infection .If the throat ain't getting better and your finding it hard to swallow you may well have developed a Quinsy throat .. which is an abscess on the tonsil itself .Go see your doc and have them send you to the ENT specialist and have it looked at thoroughly .I had it twice and it started off just as plain old tonsillitis .. i'll tell ye this for nowt .. the earlier its treated the superior .. i spent a week on both occasions in hospital in agony after i was improperly diagnosed .Hope this helps and good luck.
Answer:
go to the doctors
