i am just turned 16 and have had 2 periods in the last 3 and a half years! they lasted 5 days each time, i am also a type 1 diabetic with very brutal diabetes i have been diabetic 4 years now and i am a pump wearer. I’m of normal weight and 5 foot 5. Is the period problem because of my bad sugar control?
Answer:
being diabetic could be the answer but maybe not.
if you are of normal weight that certainly inst the issue, but absent periods can show other problems such as
anaemia, if you’re sexually active it could be sign of infection, low levels of oestrogen (which the contraceptive pill would help)
what your saying about your periods is certainly not normal.
i am also type 1 diabetic and had some period issues. my physician perscirbed me the contraceptive pill as they have the ability to help to regulate periods.
Answer:
No, I think not. You have probably an extra hormone problem about your sex hormones. The same endocrinologist that treats your diabetes could verify that if you tell him or her. Get a LH and FSH test done to see if they’re too low.
Answer:
Something is deffinatly wrong. You really should talk to your mom and see a doctor about it. It might be related to your diabetes and it might not. Either way something is not right and you need to get it checked out.
