Answer:
These might be petechiae or purpura, but they also might be harmless cherry angiomas http://www.healthscout.com/ency/68/18/ma… Even though most sites say they tend to occur in us over-40 folks, I've had dozens of them scattered over my body since age 15. I'm a healthy blood donor who has consistently normal CBCs and other bloodwork.
You shouldn't scare yourself about leukemia just because you’ve what looks like petechiae. They have the ability to also be caused by conditions such as mononucleosis, lupus, and low platelet count (thrombocytopenia), so you're right to see a doctor for more testing. Petechiae can also be idiopathic, meaning there's no known cause and they're harmless.
You may want to do more reading on cherry angiomas, purpura, and petechiae, but please don't scare yourself with the results; your symptoms can have many other causes. If there’s anything awry, your blood tests should indicate it. I’ve not heard of thyroid disorders causing these, but your physician probably knows superior than most of us on Yahoo Answers.
Good luck with your test results! Don't give up until you get a good solid explanation from your doctor.
