Well, maybe this is a “black thing” but my butt cheeks are really soft, so when I wear regular underwear or boy shorts or whatever, the undies always cut into my butt cheek and leave that weird muffin-top looking thing. Do you’ve any idea what I'm speaking about? It just presses my a-s-s in where the underwear is covering and then the rest is just like, bustin' out. So thongs stop that from happening. Plus, they give your butt a nicer shape, it doesn't get squished down in the underwear. Also, sometimes you wear white pants or dress pants and you don't want your underwear to show. Also, when I'm at work (bartending) I have been known to let my thong straps show a little. I know it's slutty, and I really don't like that look, but it helps my tips increase, lol. Also, I think my boyfriend might like thongs, so that's another added plus. Lots of reasons to wear them, but I by no means wear thongs all the time. You have to have a wiiiiide variety of underwear!

I was in a lot of dance performances that required leotards and I didn't want that unsightly panty-line!

Also, I found that more often than not, it's the huge panties that ride up, not so much my thong underwear. I would recommend investing some money in good thong underwear with some substance, though. Don't go to Wet Seal and Forever 21 and Charlotte Russe to pay $2 for a pair of string. Take advantage of the 5 for $25 deal that's always going on at Victoria's Secret. They’ve more fabric so you're never uncomfortable.

Personally, I don't like them. I like my pretty comfy pants. But thongs make some people feel sexy and confident. They also wear them if they have boyfriends and want to look sexy for them. Some people just like the whole “whale tale above the jean bum” look - personally I think this is incredibly cheap. But there you go. Its just a matter of taste, even though its not mine!

It used to be considered like “sexy” if you wore them and they showed under jeans but now it's all EWWW. I wouldn't wear a thong again any time soon. Boys don't find them attractive anymore either. Well the boys I know, not speaking for everyone!
