my jaw is aching like hell and the pain is going up from my jaw on the right hand side of my face to my ear.

it's constantly hurting but sometimes it throbs more than usual and it's been hurting for a week

had a cold is it just after effects of that?

Answer:
TMJ Disorder. I have the same thing. My jaw hurts, its hard to open my mouth very wide, and chewing something hard really hurts.

If you go to the dentist, they will make you a mouth guard you wear at night to help your jaw. Also, putting an ice pack near your jaw and ear will help.

Answer:
It sounds like TMJ. Look it up on the internet. It has something to do with the alignment of your teeth and or jaw and sometimes it makes you clinch and grind your teeth at night (when you don't know).
