and I hate needles… a lot!

I hate needles to the last time i went for a blood test i couldn’t stop sweating/shaking and hyerventilating!! I asked the nurse please dont injured me…..and she said “sweetie its already done and dusted the needles out”…i was like huh? it did not injured 1 bit.
Just tell them your scared of needles…they hear it often….so will be sure to be gentle and distract you. You can even ask for a butterfly needle which is really tiny.
Take deep breathes, no may how tempting dont look at the needle at all just look away, and stay seated for a minute or so after their done to avoid that horrible light headedness!
But please dont lose sleep its nothing to worry about!

Ok…I’m scared to death of needles, too (as in…I cringe when I watch ER). I ask to lay down instead of sitting and ask for a second nurse who speaks to me the ENTIRE time the blood is drawn. Also, ask for a butterfly needle. They are small and flexible and imo injured less.

Just consider the consequesnses of not having the blood test, this will soon get your brain in gear.

You need to realize that it could lead to some sort of depression. Stop worriying and be assured it will be fine.
