howcome its only year eights that get them.

Answer:
I think you mean the cervical cancer injection?

Ask an adult (parent/mom/carer/auntie/teacher/sister) to explain more about it.

You’ll get yours so dont worry. The government is giving the injection to girls only of a certain age first. Once they have all had theirs there will be a “catch up” programme to give it to all other girls too.

You wont get cancer in the mean time. This injection is to protect you when you are a woman so dont worry, there is no rush. It is important that you’ve this eventually though.

Answer:
In the UK, there will be a catch up programme for those who have missed out. At first the vaccine is being offered to year 8 students. The licence for this vaccine has been given for the use on girls aged 9-26 year of age.

There will be a catch up programme for those who have been missed out, it is not clear when this will be or if indeed we will have to pay for it.

Gardasil is most effective when given before one becomes sexually active, younger girls are prioritised first because there is less risk of them having already come into contact with HPV.

Answer:
It's only available in school to girls aged 11-12. This is because of the cost associated with immunising so many people; it would also be hard to organise so many jabs all over the country.

Believe me, I wish we could all get it! If you can get it from your GP, then go there and get it. And if not, you can avoid getting the virus that can cause cervical cancer by always practising safe sex - that’s, always, always use a condom.

Answer:
Ask the school why you can't get it.

They're probably just doing one grade at a time just to keep it organized and they'll do year 9 next.
