what affect did it have on you, good or bad?
Answer:
i am and have been taking it for many years, if a little tablet helps me get through the day without feeling as i did before i took them then i am happy to continue. i have had no side effects that i've noticed and would suggest anyone who is depressed and recognises it to seek help and not pooh pooh the idea of anti depressants before they've given them a chance.
Answer:
I took prozac for six months and it had no effect on me. I didnt have any side effects or anything. Just didnt work for me. Report It
Answer:
It has little effect
Answer:
Yes, some years ago. It helped me a lot.
Answer:
my sister did no effect
Answer:
Yes I took it for about a year after my son was born because of post-natal depression. It levelled out my mood and therefore took away the crippling depressive lows, but unfortunately it also took away the highs. I didn't laugh for about a year. I found I lost a lot of my emotional responses, and as such I feel some people took advantage of me once they realised I never got angry, never got upset, etc. In short, I hated being on it and would try everything to avoid it in future.
Answer:
Although I have never taken it, I have worked within the NHS for a number of years within the mental health departments, and I have seen mixed response to how Prozac works. Mainly for the better, as long as it has been used in conjunction with talking therapies, such as Cognitive Behvaiour Therapy (which is what the National Institute of Clinical Excellence recommends). It shouldn't be used for a great length of time in my opinion, as it will not take away the underlying causes of the depression, it just helps reduce some of the symptoms.
Answer:
It worked just as well with me as a placebo. wait, is that my oppinion or the medias?
Answer:
a constant excrutiating headache on one side like a migraine, and extremely tired, fatigued at times.
(which I did not have before I took it)
very bad. no affect on helping depression, nor anxiety. yes, it made me fatigued as in could hardly move, but the inner anxiety was still present.
Answer:
I was prescribed Prozac when I was suffering from a cranial infection, which affected my emotional responses.
The net result was total confusion and loss of balance.
I flushed them down the toilet after the first one! My Doctor was somewhat embarrassed, but not surprised!
Answer:
Bad. I stopped taking it. For two weeks there was no effect at all, then very suddenly I got this false euphoria which I didn't like at all - it was like masking bad smells with a cheap, overpowering air freshener - all my bad feelings were still there, under this saccharine mask of buoyancy. And it made me very anxious and paranoid - I went on a long minibus trip and was in a state of panic, convinced we would crash at every moment. So I just stopped taking them, and dealt with my problems on my own.
Answer:
I have taken it, personally I felt no change but everyone around me said that I was more practical and logical. Which I guess is better than feeling spaced out or high like other pills can make you. Although everyone I know that has been on it has had a different reaction so I guess that is based on the individual.
