Is it because my stomach isn’t used to food? Or is it because I drink too much caffiene on a night? I tend to have a couple of cans of Red Bull. I eat healthily; same food I'd eat on a daytime but I always find that I’ve stomach cramps around 6am, just before I finish. It's a lower intestinal pain, more like a period pain than a stomach ache (but its not a period pain).

Any ideas on how to combat it?

Answer:
I don't know how long you've worked night shifts and how used to it you are but I think that we’re programmed to rest during the dark hours and I think all our internal organs slow down and do the minimum work they need to. Normally you'd be asleep and your stomache resting too. This is possibly why things you eat and drink cause you anguish, plus maybe an excess of caffeine. I'd try eating something soothing or having soup, mushroom or something creamy and not too strong tasting. Not much help I know. Also I admire anyone prepared to work nights, I did it for a while and I hated it, it's so unnatural.

Answer:
