Letsee… I've had gallstones and teeth pulled under general anesthetic and cysts on my ovaries that are golf ball sized cysts (those hurt a lot, and each month!)
but I think the worst was I had 2 crowns done on my front teeth, and it was 3 hours worth of work with one shot of novicaine for both teeth.
The novicaine wore off partway through and I kept passing out during the procedure from the pain. I kept waking up and his old lady assistant would be wiping blood off my face, and she would say “oh god” and leave the room.
That dentist was old school military dentist- and I never went to him again. My gums were bruised and swollen for weeks. He was probably too old to be practicing, because he shook while he worked (hence the blood, he kept hitting my gums with the thing he was using to grind down the tooth… ewww).
Answer:
Abscess in my molar. Started Thursday, I thought it would go on Friday, nope! Sat & Sun were pure hell. Went to dentist on Mon, given some antibiotics that didn't work. Delirious with pain on Wed. reaching max dose on paracetamol, codeine and ibuprofen. Given very strong anti biotics on Wed, which worked very quickly.
6 days in hell. Even the root filling that I needed as treatment was a pleasure to have done.
