Advice needed?

Author: admin

hi i need a bit of advice i was out on saturday night went into a bar went to the bar to get a drink and slipped on the floor ans ended up in hospital with a broken ankle that needed surgery i had to have a plate and pins in my ankle. when i was on the floor in the bar i noticed that the floor was wet and thats how i slipped and there was no wet floor signs up. does any one no if i can claim as i am off work now any help would be most gratfull thanks ps and i wasnt drunk only had 3 drinks

Answer:
Sympathies all round my friend about your injuries.

First, you say there were no wet floor signs….there should have been but how busy was the bar, had some-one reported the floor condition and the staff either hadn't had the time to do something about it or alternatively they were not aware of the slippery floor at all. That is no excuse though as a wet floor constitutes a Health & Safety hazard to customers.

Secondly, have you any witnesses to the incident ?

Thirdly, I believe you should be able to claim for compensation and personal injury……can always try one of these "no win, no fee" telephone numbers or if you are not mobile, ring your Citizens Advice Bureau and ask to speak to an advisor

Answer:
where there's blame there's a claim! Will be hard proving your lack of intoxication though.

Answer:
Hi!

Well you could have a go at getting some compo couldn't you?

Find a 'no win, no fee' solicitor (most of them are these days anyway!).

You've gotting nowt to lose have you?

Best of luck!

Answer:
Ouch!! It's definitely worth talking to a lawyer about. They should at least pay for your medical bills. Hope you feel better soon!!

Answer:
yer of course you should be able to get quite a bit for it, i knows someone who had a bruised finger nail from work and she got £2000!!!

Answer:
am sure you probably could claim - although the bar owners / their insurance company would probably claim that you were drunk and therefore 'assisted in your own injury'!!

good luck tho - and hope the ankle heals - i know what its like to get pins in a broken joint (had the same in my wrist through sporting injury)
