I get these headaches about 6 or 7 times a year for the last 4 or 5 years, the pain level is a 10 out of 10, sometimes I cry it's so bad, starts at the back of the neck moving up and over to the eyes, so i have sore eyes too. anyone else with this type of headache? I’ve taken neurofen and an Italian medicine AULIN, not sure of the spelling but it's suppose to be strong and now I've tried a paracetmol and caffine 1000mg para 130mg cafine, does not help in any way. oh my GOD the pain!!!!

Answer:
You need to see a neurologist hon. This sounds like you’re experiencing the not so wonderful symptoms of migraine. Migraines can be very painful and don't respond to typical headache medications. The first thing you need to do though is have your doctor rule out any possible medical issues, then if all is well you can get on proper migraine medications. The ideal ones are able to halt the migraine in its tracks. THere is no way that you should keep taking a medication that is not working, it will only make your symptoms worse. I hope you are able to find swift and easy resolution to this situation. Good luck! A website that might help you with this problem is http://www.migraines.org This site has helped me tremendously.

Answer:
Go to the hospital and get an MRI scan. If its that bad, it has to be an intercranial problem.

Answer:
Sleep in a dark room with a wet cold cloth on your face.

All those meds only make it worse.

Answer:
Sounds like some sort of migrain. Perhaps go to the Dr. and request Imitrex (Sp?).

Answer:
It could be a tension headache. When I get them they always start in my neck and work their way into the rest of my head too. Definitely take some Advil if you’ve it. Three 200 mg tablets every 4 to 6 hours should help. Then try applying heat, such as a heating pad or you can make your own if you don't have one. All you’ve to do is to fill a clean, long sock with dry, uncooked rice (2-4 cups, depending on how large the sock is), tie the end shut, and place in the microwave for 1 minute. If it isn't hot enough, put it back in at 30 second intervals until it is hot enough. This is so great to use on these kind of headaches. It produces warm, moist heat that really penetrates the skin to really soothe deep down. The heat lasts up to 30 minutes. The ideal thing about it it that it can conform it shape to any body part you apply it to. I hope you find some relief soon :)
