Hormones

Author: admin

would hormones on the rage or an excess of oils be the result of an individual with a healthy head of hair?

Rather then i yes or no answer, might it be a technical one please.

Thanks.

Answer:
Androgens are associated with hairloss particularly in women who are often subscribed anti-androgens to help with hairloss.

But hormones are a tricky issue. Your hormonological balance is greatly affected by your diet, your lifestyle, your waist size, cholesterol levels etc. Exercise is one of the best ways to make sure your hormones are kept in check when there’s not a medical reason (thyroid, polycystic ovaries etc.) to take medication.

A full head of hair is normally a sign of a healthy hormonological balance. You should be happy with it. Hairloss, hirsuitism [excessive body hair], and acme could be signs of hormonal problems.

If you’re a man do not worry that being healthy means lack of androgens. The equation testosterone= bald is invented as a consolation prize for bald men. It just means that your body is healthy enough not to react to androgens. You should be very happy.

And more simply: healthy hair= good health, man breasts= hormonal problems. So unless you’ve breasts or experience sexual problems be proud of your hair.

Answer:
Male or female? Female, I don't know about. Male, I know more about because I'm male and have a lot of hair, not just on the head.

It's said that high testosterone levels cause baldness and body hair. So what's going on with me because I'm exceptionally hairy everywhere! There’s also a genetic component, the male pattern baldness gene is dominant in men and recessive in women. Yes, you do get bald women, though the pattern is usually different to men's.

If you're a man then a lack of hormones is more likely than an excess to cause healthy head hair. I don't know how female hormones would affect the issue. I think that sebaceous secretions are something separate.

The fact that I'm hairy like an orangutan has led me to research hair. It seems that short hairy men are more apt to go bald than tall hairy men and that hairy men, like me, around average height split 50/50 between balding and non-balding. There probably is a link with testosterone levels but there's also a genetic component. I suspect that my testosterone level is on the low side because I'm not very sexual. I wouldn't find it too hard to be celibate. This all makes for quite a confusing mix and a lot of answers have yet to be fully found.

Over the years there has been relatively little research into head hair and body hair, largely because it becomes so close to the discredited science of eugenics.

Answer:
Yes, hormones have the biggest cause of hair on one's head. Hair on the head area all female hormones and male hormones on other part of the body are all male hormones. That why hormones counts are very important.
