For as long as i can remember I cant seem to lie in on weekends? I woke up at 7.30am on a Sat, I might as well be going to work! For years I have had broken sleep, by waking up 3-4 times per night, so then Im so tired the next day. For the last week or so, I have only been waking up once. Any tips on how to lie in n weekends? If I go to bed early or late, I always seem to wake up early and not be able to get back to sleep. thanks

I think the advice so far about rekaxing is key- however it isn't necessarily that easy is it?!
Do you have things floating around in your head about what you need to do? Keep a notepad by the bed so you can write them down and "park" them to take them off your mind.
I often find that watching something on tv helps me get to sleep, maybe it could help you get back to sleep- so long as it doesn't get your mind active.
I also know a female who goes in phases of needing a bit of erm, stimulation, to totally relax and get some sleep. (seriously)
Try some "sleepeasy" tea before bed or a herbal sleep thing.
Do you know why your sleep is broken? Are you disturbed by noises? Do you have windows open / dishwashers / washing machines on / pets barking / car alarms?
Can anything be done about these?

I do the same, I think it has to do with when you first wake up instead of keeping your mind blank you start thinking of what you need to do .
I've found if I get up use the toilet and return to bed without speaking to anyone I can normally fall back to sleep within 15-20 min …. as long as I try to relax.
Good luck

Answer:
Lie in? You realize with those words, you made the rest of your question make absolutely no sense? Anyway, go to sleep at about 10PM, if the condition persists, go to a doctor. You'll probably get sleeping pills or something.
Answer:
Set an alarm clock earlier that you would normally wake up and then when it goes off you'll get that really tired feeling in the morning of wanting to go back to sleep. MAke sure you turn the alarm OFF and not on SNOOZE then when you fall asleep again you won't be disturbed by a snooze alarm.
Answer:
get some sleeping tablets
