I think some Nurses just have an automatic Speech they use when dealing with each patient, regardless! It's wrong really.I had blood taken the other day, the practise Nurse knows I’m a Nurse, yet proceeded to state the exact same thing to me!

In all honesty, it isn't done to deliberately annoy or patronise you, we’re just trying to make you feel more comfortable.

Answer:
Its just their job, they don't know what you're thinking, i'm sure a lot of people they deal with are usually nervous so rather than have to take the time to try and figure out each person individually they treat everyone as if they're nervous.

Answer:
I don't think that it's patronising. They probably state it to everyone. Perhaps you would rather the Nurse to do it all in silence? Much worse.
