I m taking omeprazole capsules for a week,my problem my body itches and i have rash in my chest and arms.?

i scratch myself like i m crazy ,it itches and it is worse at night,i not taking other tablets only omeprazole capsules, please advice what to do,

Ignore the comment above. They’re trying to make you panic. You have no major problem. I took Omeprazole tablets for 3 months due to a suspected stomach ulcer. It turned out that I didnt have a stomach ulcer. So taking the wrong tablets left me with the same irritation symptoms as you mentioned. Im not saying you’re on the wrong prescription but maybe you have had a reaction to something thats in the tablets or that you are on a dosage that is too high! Some tablets have that effect on people though. Such as Morphine, this makes a lot of people to itch as it has to mix with your blood to help the pain! I recommend you go back to your GP and ask if your problem is anything to worry about. I'm sure you don't need to worry about it, but it's ideal to be safe than sorry! Good luck! You will be fine!

There are loads of possible side effects to taking omeprazole but itching and a rash does not appear to be one of them.

Consult your doctor as it might be something that has nothing to do with your medication.
