I was woken up last night, with the most astounding pain in my chest and left arm last night. I felt very very sick with it, it only lasted about 15 mins. I'm only 29. so surely this cant be a heart attack, as the internet keeps saying if you look up these symptoms.

The pain was like the worst ache ever, and it was very very painful, I thought i was going to be sick.

Anyone have any idea's?

Thanks

Answer:
Go to your doctors or hospital. You are young for a heart condition but sadly this does happen to young people sometimes. My dad died aged 32 of a heart attack. He visited the physicians before hand but they thought he was too young and sent him away, later that evening he died.

I dont mean to scare you but you can not afford to take any chances, go and get yourself checked. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing but dont take the chance…I’m 28 and go for annual check ups due to my family history.

********** Update

You really should get it checked and if it was me I would go to A+E…if it was nothing then no harm done but if there’s something, it could be more serious next time

Even with no previous history there’s still a risk. As I say my dad died aged 32. The cause of his heart attack has never been clear but the two leading contenders are a gum infection that got into his blood stream and infected the sack that protects the heart or a condition called Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy that can be casused by a variety of things including genetics or genetic mutation.

In anycase hope it all works out to be nothing

Answer:
Depending on your weight, your genetics, drug or alcohol intake, your lifestyle, your stress level, any other diseases or ill health (e.g., diabetes, etc.)…it completely CAN be a heart attack or stroke.

There are plenty of non-invasive tests and blood tests that can be done to confirm whether or not you had a heart attack.

Forget the fact that you're 29. The symptoms you described are classic. DO NOT ignore them.

Don't let the internet or even any physician try to convince you you're too young. At a minimum get some testing done, insist on it if need be.

Answer:
it could be a range of things angina is a possibility so is anxiety attacks you really need to see a doctor for your own peace of mind since your in the high risk factor due to the fact your grandad died of a heart attack and your other granfather had a stroke im afraid this ups your risk factor to at least 50 per cent its good that you dont drink though good on ya keep to a healthy diet and take regular exercise and get checked out

Answer:
Yes, sounds like a heart attack and if you want to confirm this just phone NHS direct and talk to an advisor on 0845 46 47.
I wouldn’t faff around with the GP, phone the advisor and she will send a ambulance if you need one and stay on the phone until it gets to you.

Answer:
Pain in the chest area is always associated with serious ailments. Add nausea and arm pain, it's obviously a sign of something. Might it be serious or not, I agree with the previous answers!

Have a check up ASAP!

Prevention is superior than cure….

Answer:
Get to the doctor. It is actually possible that it was a heart attack despite your age. If it was you need treatment to minimize the damage. if not, you will feel better that you ruled it out, Don't mess around with these symptoms.

Answer:
You shouldn't rule our a heart attack. What you describe are classic symptoms. Please see your doctor and get checked out. Don't rely on the World wide web for medical advice, especially when it could mean the difference between life and death.

Answer:
definately sounds like a heart attack! i've heard of people having such small ones they hardly notice, so it could be. even if you don't drink/smoke/do drugs, if its in your genes, or if you have a stressful job/life it could be a risk. take care of yourself!

Answer:
Always get stuff like that checked out by your doctor. They could be early warning signs of something more serious. I had a similar experience a few years ago which was followed by a seriously debilitating stroke a few days later. Better to be safe than sorry!

Answer:
Please go and get checked over by your GP. He can do all the necessary checks and if you’ve a blood test they have the ability to check for any heart problems. Don`t delay in going. Take care

Answer:
Possibly angina! Straight to the doctors please.

Answer:
Go to your GP and leave nothing to chance……………better being safe than sorry.
