i was sparring in the boxing gym exactly a week ago, and when i got out the ring i felt a slight pain in my shoulder, the pain has eased, as im having some time off the gym, it hurts when i overstretch its like a slight twinge, and it clicks near 5 times out of ten when i move my shoulder a certain way,any idea what i have done to my shoulder and how i can help it heal thanks
Answer:
The specifics of what direction hurts, and what type of pain it is will be critical to determine what structures you may have damaged in there. Obviously, go to see a professional for proper diagnosis. I dislocated mine years ago, never got it seen to, and it's still fragile to this day. If you only have soft tissue damage, glutamine may help with recovery - get it checked to know for sure!
For “prehab” so it doesn't happen again, it's worth considering how you train and if you may have created a muscle imbalance that means the shoulder joint isn't as stable as it should be due to some muscles getting trained more than others.
