I work up this morning with this painful condition. My left jaw is in sheer agony. I use to suffer from this a lot when I was younger but it is back again. I am after taking some disprin, the ones you disolve in water to try and get them to work swift. What else can I do?

Answer:
Errrrrr poor you, why not get some strong pain relief from the physician, such as codeine, they work really swift. If you get them in the dissolvable form, they work quicker - good luck :)

Answer:
There are some things that a patient can do to minimize the frequency and intensity of TN attacks:

Apply ice packs or any readily available source of cold to the area of pain. Cold often numbs the area and will reduce the pain.[citation needed]

Get adequate rest in normal rest cycles.

Manage your stress well and keep stress levels low. When you feel a TN attack coming on, try to relax immediately.

Practice healthy living principles such as diet and exercise.

there r various treatmnts like drugs such as carbamazepine but in case of allergy to this drug go for phenytoin.

othr treatment measures such as phenol and alcohol injections

surgical methods such as decompression of trigeminal nerve and rhizotomy can be done.

and patient shud avoid cold exposure, washing face with very cold water

in sm cases this condition occurs bcoz of sm tumours or compression from adjacent vessels.
