I concur with using smashbox primer but for setting your make up always finish with either a loose powder or pressed powder but apply with a puff not a brush and press into skin.

There are 2 sites below I got the tip typed out from the first site but the second site is extremely good also.

I got the following tip on the internet site below:-

Foundation is the base that’s meant to even out your skin tone and help your makeup look just right on your face. Without it, some women have blotchy skin or blemishes that show through and detract from their beautiful faces. In order to make your foundation last even longer on your face, follow the steps outlined below.

InstructionsDifficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Powder

Foundation

Tissues

Step1

Wash and moisturize your face to provide a good base for your makeup and to keep your face as clean and healthy as possible.

Step2

Apply the foundation as normal, making sure to blend the areas around your jaw line so that you don't look like you're wearing a mask. Your foundation should match your skin’s natural color.

Step3

Gently press a clean sponge or tissue around your face to set the foundation on your skin.

Step4

Apply powder over the foundation to really set it, but do not brush the powder on. Use a puff of some kind instead, and press instead of rubbing

This is one of the simplest and cheapest ways to set your foundation. After all foundation/blush/concealer/etc is in place, dust LIGHTLY with loose transluscent powder. Barely dampen a clean washcloth with cool water (spritzing works well) and using as light a touch as possible, gently place it over your whole face. Press with a very light but even touch, careful not to smear or rub. If you haven't yet applied your mascara, this will also help set your shadow too. Peel the cloth away and in about a minute your makeup will be set and you'll have a foundation that’ll last most of the day. I carry powder in case I need to reset if my skin becomes oily or moist from heat. A paper towel can be used in a pinch instead of the washcloth. This trick has served me well for nearly 30 years. It adds nothing harmful to your skin and really helps to blend any uneven foundation application you might have made.

Answer:
Depening on what it is for. Each day makeup, use a foundation primer and set it well - if you like also spra a seeting spray.

If you want to really make it last for instance going to an all day event, you can buy www.modelinabottle.com or makeup forever aqua fix. It will seal your makeup ( I wouldnt advocate it everyday though)

Good Luck!

I used to have this problem until I bought a FACIAL PRIMER. You can find them at Sephora, Ulta, or at department stores. I am not sure whether they’ve them at drugstores or not. Maybe. However, apply a little primer all over your face before you put on your foundation and it should work like a charm. GOOD LUCK!

Answer:
use a primer!!! i love the one from GOSH (found only at superdrug if you live in the UK). also check out smashbox, MAC, No7 and many other high end brands for primers. but the GOSH one is cheap and a tiny goes a long way and it lasts!!!. also, just gentle pad the foundation in - a makeup artist told me that one. and of course set with powder!

My friend used to blast her face with a light spray of hairspray. I dread to think of the damage it did to her skin but it kept her make up in place all day! Personally, I prefer to use a finishing powder :-)

Answer:
Invest in a makeup primer. I purchased Smashbox Photo Finish primer a few months ago and it's made a difference.

Answer:
A face primer helps. I like the one Smashbox makes. You can get it at Sephora.

Answer:
yeah! spray your face with hairspray

it works :)

Answer:
blend it in real good
