I use both listed foundation and powder together and they seem alright, but i was wondering if there are any other longer lasting foundations out there that look flawless, matt and natural on dark skin? also, are face primers worth it? if so, which are the best and inexpensive brands? thanks
Answer:
Well although I love MAC just like anyone else who knows their makeup, I think you should give CoverFX medium to full coverage Foundation a try. They have a primer and a setting powder that you can use as a three step with your appropriate shade (and if you purchase the starter kit, it comes with the primer and some setting powder plus a foundation and concealer brush, which are great quality, for only about $65-70- way cheaper than buying them separate). I'm also NC45 in most MAC so we might be the same shade in CoverFX, too- B25 (it looks light, but it's not, trust me. there are always a few on display lighter & darker just in case though). As far as Mary Kay, it's not bad stuff but I feel like why bother when you can just go to Sephora and not pay S&H (by the way, CoverFX is at Sephora in case you were wondering) - and as far as MAC and black foundations, recently I heard a Black MAC Pro advising against MAC's foundations for our skin tones because they contain high levels of Titanium Hydroxide, which can over time taint our natural complexion towards a gray undertone, so I'm just using their colors at this point, no base…
Hope this helps ![]()
Answer:
Sidi, have you tried aularale.com/7002? It matches the undertones in your skin so you get a perfect match. It's light (water based), so your skin can breathe and you don't have to use a lot of it. Set your face w/loose translucent powder. However, a flawless look is superior obtained w/taking good care of one's skin - drinking water, eating a good diet and taking a good vitamin/mineral supplement as good skin begins inside. I don't find a need for face primers.
Answer:
i dont know about the foundations, but i do know about the primers. i think primers are actually worth the money. because they help your foundation to last much longer!!!! plus, they help to avoid it looking weird in the creases beside ur noses and they 'blur' ur pores so they arent that noticeable! one good inexpensive brand is GOSH. i have heard of people in the US getting that brand there, i just dont know what store they got it from. but if u can find it, their foundation primer is the BEST!!! a bit high-priced for drugstore brand, but a little goes a long way and its so awesome! its sold in the UK anyways at superdrug (if u live in the UK). another good primer is the one from www.coastalscents.com - i've heard good reviews from it. also, if u need any reviews concerning a product - check out this site that answers all your questions - www.makeupalley.com

My best friend uses MAC studio fix C8. She enjoys it but its not good when you take a picture. She uses Clinique now & is very happy with it.
