for the past 2 years i have been obsessed with my mac makeup brushes which i got off ebay for a bargain price (9 brushes for £50) i have used them everyday (well maybe not each ones).
but have started applying all my makeup, especially my eyes with my finger. i have found that its easier to blend, less waste and much quicker and tidier. i do go for the smoky look most days and also love to play with my mac pigments.
brush or no brush??
Answer:
I always used my finger to do my makeup (loose powder) and my mate was astonishedand horrified when she found out. She was like "OMG how do you get it like that with yiur finger?" I never really thought about it, it just seemed logical. I always washed my hands really thoroighly before dipping my finger into the pot though, as I'm paranoid about styes.
If you want to do particular shapes though, you do need brushes. I like to do strikes, as in, the colour goes in a straight line from the crease in my eyelid into a sharp point beyond the end of my eye, and that requires a shapr edged brush.
The answer to your question, in my opinion is, brush for shapes, finger for blending.
Answer:
It depends on what suits you .. i too have good quality brushes .
I used to apply foundation with a brush but now i use my fingers as it goes on better .
To be honest i prefer applying eyeshadow with my fingers as it blends in better .
I use a brush for eyeliner and if i am after the smokey eye look
ialways use a brush when applying highligher and lip colour
Answer:
personally, i just use my finger, i love mac, but the brushes are a bit pricey and if your going for a more dramatic look, its great to blend and use your finger

Answer:
A finger may make your makeup blend better but a brush is more clean.

I apply foundation with clean fingers…but use brushes for eye shadow….am also planning to buy some mac or bobbi brown brushes! think u need a good brush for eyeshadows though!
Answer:
I think it depends on the situation. There are sometimes when you absolutely DO need the precision of a brush and other times where your fingers are ideal. I was obsessing about brushes a month ago, and finally forked out the money for two MAC brushes, #219 (pencil brush) and #239 (small paddle brush), and I use those quite a bit. I say, use a paddle brush for those subtle washes of colour and a small brush (like the 219 or whatever other liner brush) for using shadow/pigments/fluidline/etc to line your eyes. Fingers are useful for concentrating more colour on your lids and dealing with cream shadows, fixing a rogue smudge, etc. But other than for my Shiseido Hydro-Powder eyeshadows, I avoid digging my finger into my MAC shadows. Also, just make sure you've washed your fingers real clean before touching any products–you don't want to contaminate anything. So, brush or no brush depends on what you're doing. Despite what they say about your fingers being unprofessional, really…I'm no makeup artist and neither are you (well…I'm assuming so), so it doesn't matter. Whatever floats your boat!
Answer:
depends if ur just considering using the brushes to block the guilt of buying them and not using them….
i meani prefer my fingers- they're just easier!
