i dnt think it suits me because my skins dark…it looks awkward

Answer:
No it definately would look good on you! I started wearing it recently and I thought I won't suit my caucasian skin! It will suit you, you just have to go for a “blue-red” rather than a “yellow-red”. The way to tell the difference is that a yellow-red will be more towards the orange spectrum and a blue-red (which is right for your skin tone) will look like it has some pink in it but will still be red and will be darker rather than a brighter red… you could describe it as slightly ruby. How about MAC “Ruby Woo” or “Russian Red”. These are popular colours, I think Ruby Woo will be superior for you though as it's a blue-red. When you first wear red lipstick it will be strange and you’ll look in the mirror and be like “wowah!!” but just wear it around the home and keep looking in the mirror at yourself, so you get used to it before wearing it out. I think red lipstick is best for the evening too, rather than day. Once you get used to applying and wearing it you might become addicted, like me :o) Oh and before putting it on, line your lips with a lipliner that is one shade darker than your natural lip colour, then apply the lipstick carefully with a lipbrush.. then blot your lips on a tissue and put your index finger in your mouth and pull it out point up towards your top lip slightly (this gets rid of lipstick on the inside of your lip which will otherwise end up on your teeth).

There's a red, a pink, a berry, a plum, a nude, a peach, a coral that suits every skin tone.

Women generally like a blue red, but that's not always flattering. Men are more attracted to orangey reds - so this might work in your favor with your skin tone.

Experiment! Try a deep coral red or a brick red. You might also find that no one shade will do it for you, but blending several shades might!

Answer:
You can absolutely wear red lipstick. Its a matter of finding one with the right undertone. You’re going to want to stay away from a blue/red, that's the bright fire engine red. You should use a deeper shade of red, like a brick or orange/red, something with a coral undertone!

Answer:
I have fairly tanned skin, I'm blended grenadian/ caucasian and everybody says that red lipstick really suits my skin colour.

Although, I get what your saying as when I look at myself wearing it, it somehow seems to look over the top! I find if I apply it and then blot with paper quite abit it looks a lot more natural!

Overall though, I would state yes, it should suit you!

Answer:
I think it'll look gorgeous. BUT it depends on the lipstick.
Red lipsticks are not all the same. Some are blue based, some orange based etc.. As far as I know, blue based ones are for pale skin, &warm colour based ones for darker skins.
if you go to MAC. they have a large range. Either ask them to help you find one or try each one & see which one suits you.

Answer:
Honestly, I hate red lipstick on anyone. It's ecspecially not for us people of color. The reason it looks akward is because it's unnatural. Darker skin people normally don't have red lips. Pick a more natural color that compliments your skin tone. It'll be much prettier.

Answer:
Red lipstick suits anyone! I have blonde hair and fair skin and I use a pinky red gloss. U r lucky with your skin tone and you will definitely be able to wear dark red/ruby colours! It will look strange at first but I guarantee it will look fab!
