You need to get medication for your depression and speak to someone, wether it be a friend or counceler..You're hurting yourself because you're down, and depressed and lacking self confidence, most likely; and the only way to get it back up is if you well tehcnically talking help yourself by trying to focus on the things that don't depress you, and start talking to people you know about your problems..But a lot of people with depression need medication to help them, so just start with seeing another councelor or doctor, and stay motivated and stick with it!!

I have spent the last few months getting tattoo's over all my old harming scars…I have had to cover a full forearm and it still isn't great but better than the hideous scars that have plagued my confidence for years. What I’m trying to state I guess is that you’ll stop and you’ll want to conceal them all later in your life so the more you harm the more you’ll have to cover or live with when you’re over the worst. Think of the long term. I think my turn around came when someone else hurt me more than I did…it made me want to protect myself and the abuse stopped.

If you didn't find your previous councellor much help then maybe you should try a different one. When self-injury becomes a way of coping with stress its a sign that there are problems which need sorting, try support from friends and family.
