What tablet and dose were you on? What were the withdrawal symptoms? How long did they last? Why did you come off them? Did you need to go on them again? How are you now?

Answer:
1) fluoxetine (prozac) 20mg i think
2) withdrawal symptoms - none that were memorable apart from my mood lowered again and i was able to cry and feel emotion again
3) i came off of them due to increased anxiety, forgetfulness, inability to concentrate, and suicidal ideation.
4) i didn’t go on them again, i went on a very low dose of antipsychotics for anxiety which i was allergic to within 2 days. then i didn't go on any more cause they thought meds weren't working out for me.
5) now, i don’t have depression as such any more. i have “low mood” so, i am not clinically depressed, i just get a lot of patches of intense low mood without the clinical symptoms. i also developed psychosis and still have an ongoing severe anxiety disorder.
6) no disturbing vivid dreams, i get them already regardless of the meds.
7) no violent and extreme emotions as a result of meds.

Answer:
I rarely have any bad withdrawal when coming off anti depressants, I come off in a controlled way.

I’ve come off

Sertraline- No withdrawal effects, felt bit tearful but could be down to depression itself
Prozac- Was awful when I was on it so withdrawal was a relief
Venlafaxine- Was ok felt bit angry when withdrawing but only for a day
Citalopram- No problems with withdrawal.

They only lasted for a couple of days.

Didn't need to go on any of them again but they were replaced with others. Currently I am on Trazodone and Mirtazapine the Trazodone helps me to sleep and mirtazapine does nothing. Still not feeling good I’m getting a review soon.

Answer:
I was on 50mg of paxil for three months before trying to switch to the lowest dose of Pristiq. I had bad headaches coming off Paxil (I tapered off swift, 10 mg a day.) When Ihad to quit Pristiq after a week, I had very bad nausea, dizziness, aches/pains, and felt weak. The wost only lasted a few days, but my psych prescribed an antiemetic and suggested choline (you can find it at whole foods.)

Answer:
I was on 40mg of fluoxatine (prozac) and i came off them gradually as told by my doc, i didn't have any side effects at all no withdrawl symptoms. I was taking these for about a year. I have had a slight relapse around a year ago but i am fine now….touch wood, i have learnt my relapse signs and have great support so im hoping i wont need the tablets again….they worked very well for me…..good luck

Answer:
I’ve tried many antidepressants (too many to list, and I'd never remember the dosages). I never had any problem when I stopped taking them. Anti-anxiety meds such as Xanax and Klonopin, however, are very difficult to stop taking. It takes more will-power than I’ve to halt.

Answer:
It depends on the meds - some are more difficult than others, but you must do it slowly. I need to , but everyon is different. I do have vivid dreams and confusion sometimes.I have always had to begin another one so I cant speak for how it is without.

Answer:
When i was previously on Prozac i came off straight away and had no withdrawl symptoms but i know some people can experience the extremes of hallucinations.

However that was 3 years ago and ive been placed back on anti depressants, although its Remeron now.
