I've currently got glasses, but I hate them and I dont really contact lenses that much, I'm thinking of getting laser eye surgery, but at what age is the best to get them, because I heard that your eyes starts settling at the age of 21 or something and I'm only 18!

most physicians won’t treat you if you are under 21 unless you can prove that your prescription has not changed in the last few years.
If you have the treatment too young, your prescription may change again and you would need a further correction or glasses again and if you willingly went ahead at 18 knowing that your prescription could change the clinic can ask you to sign a waiver meaning you would need to pay for any adjustments in the future.

Only your eye doctor can tell you what’s best for you and your situation. In the US, it is legal to to it at 18. It isn’t a good idea to do it until your eyes have been stable, or unchanging, for 2 years or more. There are other factors that they look at as well. corneal thickness, tear quality, inside eye health and mechanics, etc. laser surgery does not keep your eyes from changing in the future. All eyes change over time and they change with or without surgery. You’ve to remember that the surgery isn’t covered by insurance and costs several thousands of dollars if you go to a reputable place and get it done by a good physician. I had Laser eye surgery done after wearing glasses for 16 years. It has been perfect for me. I’ve had no changes. Of course, as I age, I anticipate changes. I also co-manage refractive surgery and have seen hundreds of successful patients. It doesn't hurt, generally. There is a bit of pressure, but no real pain if you’ve Laser eye surgery. The PRK version (where no flap is cut) is a little more uncomfortable for the first few days following the procedure. I've seen several people who said they were in some pain, but healed just fine. I used to wear both glasses and contact lenses. I had Laser eye surgery done and it's the best decision I've ever made. I have the ability to see clearly, no squinting, no driving with glasses anymore. I can read road signs, see the individual leaves in the trees (they're not just a blurry mess anymore). It's also nice to be able to see what time it is when I wake up. The procedure is painless (although a bit uncomfortable) but takes less than 15 minutes. Highly suggested.
