I went to the eye doctor on tuesday with a very badly swollen upper eye lid and it had some pain. The physician told me that it was a chalazion cyst that was infected, it had ruptured inwards instead of outwards and also i had scraped the cornea of me eye so i was getting very bad dry eye with it. I was prescribed some antibiotics, creams and drops for the infection and for the dry eye. I’ve been taking them for a few days now and there’s a massive improvement but i can still feel the cyst under my eye lid?? The doctor told me that if it does not go i will have to get it surgically removed
which i want to avoid if i can. Can anyone give me some advice to get this down?? Thanks very much!
Answer:
Please follow your physicians advice to the letter. It will not hurt to get the Chalazion removed, they have good meds to numb the eye. and you’ll prevent it from scratching the cornea of the eye again. He’s doing a good job, clearing up the infection in the eye before doing anything else. Please call him before using warm compresses.
Answer:
the only thing you could do to help it along is use a warm wash cloth and apply gentle pressure for several times a day,as warm as you can stand it helps
Answer:
You could try warm compresses with the application of slight pressure over the chalazion. this works sometimes.
