Everytime i use an avon eye liner pencil after about three hours my eyes start to itch, go red and i get this yellow discharge. it is really horrible and i have to get drops from chemist to clear it up.
I bought new eyeliner after each purchased as thought maybe the eyeline was infected but it keeps coming back every time i use even a new product.
I thought that conjuctivitis was caused by bacteria ? could an allergic produce these symptoms too? particulary the horrible green/yellow discharge?

It is quite possible to allergic to nearly anything and it may well be that many of these products have the same basic ingredients.

Heyy im allergic to a lot of eye make up the only eye make up im not allergic to is MAC lol
its possible to be allergic cause my eyes swell up and i cant see.
the ideal thing to do is try and find a hypo-alergenic eyeliner and see what happens. if its the same then just get a really thin lip brush dip it in water and then in black eyeshadow and use that as an eyeliner…thats what i usually do.

It could be that Avon use something in their eyeliner that your allergic to if your eyes have reacted to 2 eyeliners made by Avon. I'd recommend you use a different brand of eyeliner if it's making your eyes react in such a way.

yea, im allergic to most avon products, its something they use in the making process of the make up. i noticed i was allergic when i got the same symptoms as you and the pharmacist stated it wasnt conjuntivitis but an allergic reaction. x

You name the object, and there's most likely somebody out there allergic to it. So, yes it is possible. You might want to tell your physician that this is happening only when you use eyeliner.

yes you are allergic to the eyeliner, its actually quite common for people to have allergies to certain eye make up brands. I suggest you use Boots No7 brand. all their makeup is hypoallergenic.

Yes, it is possible. I don't have a problem with eye liners but I can't wear mascara. My eyes begin to itch and burn when I put it on. I have never found a brand that works for me.

Sounds like you’re allergic to most eyeliners. I’ve the same problem but without the red and yellow bits. My eyes just itch like mad. Try a hyopallergenic eyeliner like clinique.
