I am 14 and with dyspraxia i heard that when i was 13 and was crying for ages but then some one told me that their was no need to worry it was just something that people have made up for a bit of money.And to scared the life out of people.
Remember about a year ago when GM Television told us that rocket the was going to leave the earth was going to blow everything up.I really beleaved it.I was crying and wanted them to just stop it.
But i woke up still alive for the rest of my life.(im 14 now)
When i was upset the words “if this does happend i really will miss you” really made me cry even more.

A good thing to do is make sure that everyone who knows her and is around her reassures her and talks to her a lot, reaffirming that this isn't going to happen. Also, if possible, stay with your child at all time, and continue to tell them that this isn't real. Try to uncommon treat your daughter with ice cream and stuff. Tell her that this man had no idea what he was talking about, or that he was sick in his mind.
Scientifically, meteors pass by us ALL the time, and nothing has happened. Technology will continue to advance each day, and by the time this meteor gets anywhere close, which isn't going to happen until about 2019, the scientists will be able to monitor the path even more closely, so it won't even be a problem. Trust me, this isn't a worry.
and for your five your old.. sweetheart, the world isn't going to end in 2012, and this man is crazy. my older brother works for NASA, and this isn't a big concern for then. that man was just trying to scare kids, don't let him win. he just wants to laugh at you guys as he spreads bad rumors.

Tell her many people state silly things and this is just one of them You could state that when we play we state Dolly is saying something when we know she’s not really speaking, and the silly person who told her this was only saying something that no one knows will happen. When I was a child, we were scared to death of dinosaurs because our step dad told us there was a dinosaur egg under the house, and KIDS BELIEVE STUFF. I remember being so afraid to walk to the loo in the middle of the night that I wet the bed until I was 10 years old!

treat her for a bit, children that age forget things easily after a few days, if she doesn't and keeps it up for like 3 or 4 weeks id take her to a shrink, might seem extreme but it would be odd to act like that at such a young age
