Will I Be Able to Drive?

Author: admin

I have duane's syndrome where my left eye does not move to the left. When I try to move my eye to the left I get double vision on the left quite bad. I live in Scotland and i have no idea what the regulations for driving are here but i hope that i can drive. I was also considering corrective surgery but its only 50% effective and i am only 15. Please help if you can, i just want to know if i will be able to drive.
Thank you if you can help :)

Answer:
I’ve strabismus and I’m able to drive and have been doing so since I was 16 I’m currently 34. I don’t have the same condition as you, but I experienced some of the same issues. In my case my left eye turned outward. I've had two eye surgeries, went through patching, prism eyeglasses (very short period of time), and vision therapy. I still experience some double vision typically when I’m fatigued or fatigued.

I recommend that you see an ophthalmologist to see what treatment options are available to aid with your vision. Eyeglasses with a prism correction have been successful for many patients in your situation to help with the double vision. You might also want to see if vision therapy is an option for you. I think it was the most successful for me. You may also want to consider wearing a contact lens that blocks the vision in the impacted eye or an eyepatch.

Good Luck!

If you can read a licence plate at a certain distance then you’re fit to drive , unfortunately i can’t remember the distance so maybe you should make that your next question ?

Hope this helps good luck .

Answer:
Yes, if you can pass the eye test you should be fine to drive, the examiner won't know about your disorder unless you tell him about it.

Answer:

Answer:
