Hi I'm 31weeks tomorrow and for the last week or so I've been feeling slightly off it, feeling sick, dizzy light headed and getting head aches, I'm sure this is all very normal in the final trimester!
My baby is sat breech and occasionally turns transverse.
But the last two days my belly has been going really hard and I've been having upper abdominal pains, just below my ribs and under my ribs. like a tightening and pressure. Just wondering if this is Bryston hicks or the baby kicking or poking me. And if anyone has any tips to try and ease the pain a little?
I am currently going to work 2 1/2 days and also going to college 2 1/2 days a week but I'm thinking of stopping work in the next week or so as I'm starting to get abit exhausted with doing both. When did everyone else start their maternity leave?
Thank you

I’m 33 weeks pregnant and I'm glad to hear from another mom who is experiencing many of the same things that I’m experiencing right now.
I feel like the aches and pains have just suddenly come on–and the Braxton Hicks contractions have just become noticeable in the past couple of weeks. This is my second child, and I didn't recognize these contractions with my daughter, but they are very noticeable this time around. They generally aren't painful, just uncomfortable.
As far as the aches and pains go, I have the ability to tell you that with my first pregnancy (nearly 3 years ago), things really went down hill in the final month or so. I was amazed at how quickly my comfort level deteriorated–aches and pains in places that you didn't know could hurt. This pregnancy seems to be following the same trajectory–Ugh. Additionally, my baby is also doing the same kind of positioning (breach/transverse), and it does injured sometimes, especially when a foot makes it up into the ribcage and gives a tiny kick. I didn't have this kind of pain from the baby moving with my last pregnancy…so I suspect that the position of the baby is affecting this. I just try to remember that the baby is trying to turn itself around to the proper birthing position and that's not so simple in such tight quarters.
I think it is an excellent idea to par down your schedule as much as possible. From here on out, your body is really going to start telling you when you have done too much (often for days after the fact). You need to do whatever you can to preserve the comfort you have left until the baby comes.
One ray of hope that I hold onto from my previous pregnancy/birth is that 95% of the aches and pains suddenly disappeared once the baby was born–literally within moments of the baby being born. I couldn't believe how great I felt. I wasn't anticipating such a spectacular end to my pregnancy–you get a beautiful baby, AND most of the pains that you’ve been dealing with for months disappear instantaneously. Baby's birthday is truly a blessed day for all!
As for the dizziness, headaches etc. I’m a little loathe to recommend possible ailments that could be causing these issues because there could very well be benign causes for your symptoms, and you don't need to be needlessly stressed out. That stated, I know that some have recommended possible problems with preeclampsia. I wanted to also bring up the idea of anemia/low iron levels so you can discuss it with your prenatal care povider as well. Anemia is quite common for pregnant women and it can produce many of the symptoms that you are describing. (See the link below). Again, try not to worry to much. Just talk to your doctor/midwife to figure out what is really going on–if for no other reason than to put your mind at ease.
Good luck–Hang in there! You’ve nearly made it to the end.
By the way, congratulations!
Answer:
ask your midwife some of those sound like signs of preeclampsia.
Im sure youve already had your glucose screening for gestational diabete's? Because dizzyness and headaches are a sign of that..
Braxton hicks shouldnt be painfull, not as painfull as you describe they should also go away while doing physical activity.
I wish you well.
(dont know about the M-leave, never had it)

I'm 31 weeks too and Braxton Hicks make me feel like that too! Also I think maybe you are just fatigued from doing to much! That would make you feel awful too!
Answer:
It seems like your having Braxton Hicks! I would talk to the dr about what you've been feeling! Good luck.

Hi,
I thik you need to discuss this with your midwife or physician today.
Feeling unwell, dizziness, headaches and abdominal pains can be a sign of pre-eclampsia . This is extremely hazardous for you and your baby. Another sign is swelling of hands feet etc, do any rings you have feel tighter?
Your midwife will be able to do a swift simple urine test, with pre eclampsia protein is found in the urine. This condition needs careful monitoring by medical staff.
The tightenings might be easy braxten hicks but better safe than sorry !! Not much you can do for them. Make sure you’re drinking plenty, i mean lots and lots, you can get premature contractions due to dehydration and baby needs to cook a little while longer yet
The very best advice any person here can give you is see your health professional TODAY.
For what its worth i had pre eclampsia but went on to deliver healthy twins at 38 weeks (induced)…… so dont panic….. BUT….since it can be very hazardous to you both get checked out.
Good luck

Hi Hun!
yeah at 30 weeks a hardening of your belly is normal also imagine in those last few weeks then your insides are all crammed up into your chest cavity more so you will get pains there! also if your bambino decided to kick you in the ribs it might hurt right!?
Think of it like this your body has a few extra pints of blood in it and also like 50% less air capacity in the lungs so you’ll be out of breath and also when you move your body not only has to supply the oxygen on a budget, it also has to distribut the blood quickly to your brain to adjust for your movements! also your heart has to work twice as hard now!
Dizziness is the brain momentarily lacking in blood oxygen because of pressure adjustment! your ok hun!
Also your abdomen might be flexing and in spazm now which is all about the grand preparation!
Hope your ok
