im 7 weeks and 2days pregnant and i have to forse myself to eat everyday, all i want is cereal in the morning along with my folic acid tablet and nothing for the rest of the day, when i feel i've not ate for some time i forse myself to eat something only a couple of spoonfuls i can manage, unless its cheese and onion crisps i can eat about 3bags or more! is this a craving? i never had cravings with my daughter,

its not each single day but most days, is it normal to loose your appetite at this stage of pregnancy?

thanks in advance for your serious answers

Not all of these ideas are “for sure cures”, but obstetricians commonly suggest them, and many women swear by them. Some of them worked for my wife and some didn't. I Hope some of what I was told can help you.

If you'r feeling queezy, try to avoid foods and smells that trigger your nausea. If that seems like nearly everything, it's okay to eat the few things that do appeal to you for this part of your pregnancy, even if they don't add up to a balanced diet.

It might also help to stick to bland foods. Try to eat food cold or at room temperature, because it tends to have less of an aroma than when it's hot.

Keep easy snacks, such as crackers, by your bed. When you first wake up, nibble a few crackers and then rest for 20 to 30 minutes before getting up. Snacking on crackers might also help you feel better if you wake up nauseated in the middle of the night.

Eat small, frequent meals and snacks throughout the day so that your stomach is never empty. Some women find that carbohydrates are most appealing.

Try drinking fluids mostly between meals. And don't drink so much at one time that your stomach feels full, as that will make you less hungry for food. A good strategy is to sip fluids frequently throughout the day.

Try taking your prenatal vitamins with food or just before bed. You might also want to ask your healthcare provider whether you can switch to a prenatal vitamin with a low dose of iron or no iron for the first trimester, since this mineral can be hard on your digestive system.

Try ginger, an substitute remedy thought to settle the stomach and help quell queasiness. See if you can find ginger ale made with REAL ginger. (Most supermarket ginger ales aren't.) Grate some fresh ginger into hot water to make ginger tea, or see if ginger candies help.

Some studies found that taking powdered ginger root in capsules provided some relief, but be MAKE SURE TO TALK TO YOUR PROVIDER before taking ginger supplements. There's no way to be sure how much of the active ingredient you're getting in these supplements, so some experts think it's best not to use them.

Also try a vitamin B6 supplament. No one knows why B6 eases nausea, but for some women it can help. (It helped my wife with hers) It is safe when taken in commonly suggested doses which is about 10 to 25 milligrams three times a day, BUT CHECK WITH YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE TAKING ANYTHING!!! They have the ability to tell you how much to take and whether the amount in your prenatal vitamin should count as one of the doses.

As for your “cravings” try some of these recipies: Pickles wrapped in cheese, salsa spooned straight out of the jar, and yes, even steak fat. And where in the spectrum of sweet, salty, spicy, and sour does one woman's passion for black olives on Sara Lee cheesecake lie? How about a cheese whiz sandwich, Eggplant on a pizza, yummy. It's probably the increase of hormones right now. But no one really knows for sure. You women are already complicated enough. Oh yea, some of your cravings now will make you nauseous even at the bare thought of, let alone seeing or smelling it in your postpardom. Here's what you need to do. Humor your cravings rather than fight them, like try nonfat frozen yogurt for ice cream. Eat breakfast every day (skipping breakfast can make cravings worse), get plenty of exercise, and make sure you’ve lots of emotional support.

I think we’ve a whole room full of baby caregiving, developing, growing, naming…..Well, if it has to do with babies, we probably have it. My wife was obsessed with the knowlage, and for some reason, she made sure I knew everything as well. I don't know why she did though, it was her problem, not mine. LOL. I mean…. What do I’ve to do with any of this?!?

Just kidding

Answer:
yes its normal. I did around 6 weeks till about 14 weeks. But I also had bad bad morning sickness. i ended up loosing 10lbs. Weighing in at only 108lbs!!

But at each doc's appointment the baby was fine and growing rapidly! And right as I entered into my 2nd trimester i packed on the lbs! And had a healthy boy!

Just try and eat as much as you can, and as healthy as you can. Also in addition to taking folic acid try and take your prenatle vitamins. If you dont have any, call your doc for a perscription or take a normal multi vitamin………….

good luck

I started being hungry probably during my 9th or 10th week, but it was so strange: hungry (for just some food, other food was disgusting) and, after eating, sick. During my 1st trimester I was trim, but after the sicknesses went away I started eating a lot and gained a lot. You have so many hormons going on at the beginning that I think it is normal not to feel hungry.

Answer:
i had no appitite at about 9 weeks, and couldnt eat much at all, even forcing myself was hard work. But it didnt last long, maybe a week. Now im eating when im hungry and can actually eat when there’s food infront of me. I wouldnt worry, unless it goes on for too long

Answer:
I used to eat like a horse before i got pregnant, and now I eat nowhere near as much. My appetite really did just die off! Don't force yourself to over eat just eat something sensible small and thats good for u and the little one! good luck hunni

Answer:
if your not eating than take some vitamins the baby need the nutrients from the food and eat some thing fatty so the baby can get the weight

Answer:
I T MAY BE A RESULT OF MORNING SICKNESS.y OU NEED TO STOP EATING SO MANY BAGS OF CRISPS AS THEY JUST FAT AND SALT.LIMIT YOURSELF TO 3 BAGS A WEEK.TAKE MULTI-VITS AND MINERALS,YOU CAN BUY THESE AND OTHERS AT SAVERS FOR LESS THAN A POUND.If you eat no animal products,be sure to supplement vitamin B12.You will get all you need if you take a 25 mcg tablet twice a week;the body stores extra vitamin B12 in the liver but only absorbs a few micrograms at a time.A deficiency of vitamin B12 causes pernicious anemia,a condition that might be masked by eating foods rich in folacin(dark, leafy greens).Vegetables and fruit are important for vitamins and minerals.Raw or lightly cooked vegetables are ideal.

I am about 34 weeks and still have to force myself to eat. I get really bad morning sickness, and even though I’m so far along have lost 13 pounds instead of gain anything. The doctor tried to treat it with medicine, but nothing helped. He got on me about the weight and put me on a diet to gain but it made me even more sick. Sometimes your body just responds differently than others. I have had an appetite maybe one or two days every couple of weeks. Its common for you to lose your appetite or change the way you eat and even what you eat while pregnant. The hormones just effect it. My guess is that it won't last, but in my case I'm stuck with it just several weeks to go… Good luck and congratulations on your baby! Oh, and yes it sounds like a craving on the onion crisps!
