i was going to say dont do anything until you are at least 37weeks but then i read the bit that your not going to try until about 39weeks so thats fine
your baby wont come untill its ready no matter what you do but its worth a try. i know how you feel i was scared of going overdue too as my baby weighed 7lbs 6ounces (estimated) at 38weeks but im being induced tomorrow due to medical complications so its ok. anyway the things ive heard of to bring on labour are;
nipple stimulation (but you have to do it for ages and using a breast pump helps).
raspberry leaf tea
lots of walking
sex
hot baths
spicy food
castor oil (but it can be dangerous i wouldnt reccomend it)
thats all i can think of at the moment but ill come back and add more if i think of anything.
good luck x
Answer:
Trust your body and your baby. Postdates is after the 37-42 week range is over I doubt you'll go past 42.
Answer:
you are not even full term yet (36 weeks is full term) i know it is hard but just try and be patient. ask this ? again in a few weeks
Answer:
what i can advise, u should check with yr doctor or health center, cus what they normally do is induce labour
Answer:
Your body goes into labor when your baby is READY to be born. If you make him come sooner you are risking that he wont be fully developed. That risks colic, jaundice, breathing problems, etc etc. You want to suffer a few extra weeks so that you don't have a collicky baby. I promise you it is worth it.
Answer:
At 35 weeks you shouldn't even be worrying about this yet. Trust in your body, trust in the labor process. It will happen when it is ready. This isn't about you and getting what you want when you want it. It's about the safety, health, and well being of your child.
Congrats, you are almost there!
Answer:
BE PATIENT!
Answer:
too soon to have baby you don't want a bay in pre natal unit in the hospital my first was almost 42 weeks and 8lb 12oz
Answer:
You still have several weeks to go. You really shouldn't try to bring on contractions right now. Your baby could end up in a NICU if born too early. Let your body decide when your baby should come. And anyway, most doctors will induce your labor before going too far overdue. Just be patient. Good luck.
Answer:
sex works (I did it w/ my last pregnancy) but only if your body is ready. At 35 weeks you should still wait. Just to note, sex can bring on very strong contractions…. but it worked for me! (I was 1 day passed my due date)
Answer:
although you proably don't want to hear this but…please wait until the baby is ready!!!! and wait until 38 weeks because your babies lungs aren't fully developed until then
the week before my due date, my husband and i had sex, walked up and down stairs, went for long walks, pretty much just excersie. i've heard eating spicy foods can help. but other than that the baby will still come when he/she is ready!
my son was 2 days early!
good luck
Answer:
Repost in 5 weeks, and I will give you some great answers.
Answer:
Well, hate to tell you, but babies come when they're ready. Oh, I've tried every trick in the book before and mine are all induced in the end. A first pregnancy really needs to go to its term, or over its term if that is what happens but you will be induced by 10 days after the due date at the latest, don't worry. Just have faith in your body. If baby is ready in a few weeks, you'll go into labor. But really, all the sex, castor oil, and whatever else haven't worked for anyone I know, except for giving them lots of uncomfortable contractions that did not lead to labor. Good luck and hang in there. Baby will drop soon and make you more comfortable.
Answer:
orgasms work to bring on labour, when you orgasm your body releases oxcytosen, and oxcytosen helps stimulate the uterus to contract, just remember if it gets to painful STOP!!
good luck and have fun
Answer:
yeah wait another few weeks you don't want your baby to come yet your not even full term yet!!!!!
Answer:
I wouldn't be trying to start labor anytime soon!! 35 weeks is still too soon for that. Eat a good healthy diet and exersize and when you reach the 39 week point, then you can start looking into things such as sex (with orgasm), long walks, nipple stimulation, spicy food, or castor oil. Right now would be a great time to start drinking Red Raspberry Leaf Tea though. From now till you go into labor, drink 5-6 cups a day if you can (it is a uterine tonic… helps to strengthen the uterine muscles - but it has to be Red Raspberry LEAF … not just raspberry tea), and at week 39, you can start taking 3 primrose oil capsules daily as well (you can also insert 2 capsules into the vagina at night at 39 weeks to help soften the cervix). I wouldn't be doing any of these things NOW though. It's too soon. Your baby knows when it is done baking. He/she will be born at the perfect time. Don't rush it.
Answer:
At 35 weeks, you still have a little ways to go. You won't be overdue for at least another 5 weeks. Full term pregnancies go to 40 weeks and I don't think doctors begin to think they're really overdue until 42 weeks (depending on the woman). I know you must be getting anxious; but just be patient, the baby will come when it's time.
Answer:
The baby will come when it's ready….
I don't think any of the home remedies help.
I tried everything too because i thought I was going to go past my due date…
I did everything I could find to do in excess…. he didn't budge…
Nipple stimulation is probably the best bet… although not a guarantee. And it can complicate things…. Some doctors claim it makes the labor more painful…
I tried it and still nothing….
aside from labor inducing chemicals you will have to ride it out….
You can walk a lot… herbs and stuff that claim put you into labor are not reliable and can be harmful…
I was climbing stars, going for rides on bumpy roads, eating spicy food, having sex, nipple Stimulation, masturbation, key lime pie… certain teas, and he came on his due date….
Answer:
Never mind what you want. What about the baby.Leave alone and let nature take its course.A pregnancy is not 40 weeks for nothing you know and why would you jeopardise the last stages of the babies development just because you don't want to go overdue……..madness.
Answer:
if ur baby was born now there is still a slight risk that it might still need help with breathing, u dont want that on ur concience, im 36 weeks and know how u feel but just wait another couple of weeks before trying anything, personally i dont think nothing works unless its ready to come anyway x
Answer:
I would let nature take it's course, there is no big deal about being overdue, two out of my three where late, one was 12 days over.
I can't see why there is a real problem with it, when your baby is ready it will pop out,
