Im 20 weeks pregnant and for the last 2weeks I have have black discharge. I am not in pain or bleeding and have been to the midwife……. she says its “one of those things”. Is there anyone else had a similar experience not too worried just need a further explanation really !?

Answer:
It's probably that you're bleeding old blood.

There's lots of types of bleeding that occur during pregnancy that are harmless.

Answer:
Black discharge?

that does not sound normal at all.

I would definitely want an expert-medical thought, and wouldn’t trust your midwife on this one.

I can't think of any sort of black-discharge being healthy at all, especially during pregnancy.

Especially since she has not even explained where it is coming from.

Please get a second opinion.

Answer:
personally i would go get a second view.. “one of those things' does not add up to me.. thats an excuse because they don’t know and thats not very professional in my thought.. i have never heard of black discharge, nor would i even begin to believe that it is remotely normal.. i don’t know what causes it and i could be wrong ut when your pregnant you always want to act on the side of caution. If your dr can not tell you why it is happening or what it is then they can not say it is normal or safe.. i advocate to get another view

Answer:
If the midwife states it's nothing to worry about it's probably ok. Never heard of it before though.

Why don't you try googleing it?

Answer:
I’ve never ever heard of black discharge, ever. Brown yes but not black. That is odd to me and I would consider seeing an actually OB.

Good luck.

Answer:
Wow, your on your own there, I’ve never heard of black discharge. Are you sure you don't have some sort of infection?

Answer:
i would go and get a second view, and i would not wait any longer

Answer:
it means that the blood that was there has been sitting for a while and it broke down into black.

Answer:
Never ever heard of BLACK discharge!

Answer:
That's not 'one of those things'. See a doctor.

Answer:
You need to see an OB/GYN.

Answer:
black means its old blood so i'd def get checked out
