i had my urine tested three weeks ago and i had my results back today saying that i had a mild infection and the treatment is to be canesten.the infection is inside and not outside.i have got a pessary at home but im unsure wether to take it or not. im 10wks and 2days pregnant. thanks for any advice

Answer:
i went to the physicians only this morning because i have thrush and he has prescibed me with caneston, but he has only given me the pessary that you put inside yourself, he said that he didnt want to give me the oral tablet as he was unsure of any side effects or harm to the baby, but im 36 wks pregnant and im sure that i read somewhere that they dont usually like to give you caneston during the first 12wks of pregnancy espescially the ones that you insert yourself,so i would check with your doctor before taking anything.Or try googling thrush during pregnancy i think this is where i read it.

Answer:
Hormonal changes during pregnancy increase the danger of vulvovaginal fungal infections which should be treated immediately. Even though this is aclassical condition for self-medication, it is highly suggested that pregnant women consult a doctor before starting treatment.

During pregnancy it is superior to use vaginal tablets because they have the ability to easily be inserted without an applicator.

This removes any possibility, however small, of injury to the foetus. Canesten itself is not known to cause any damage and can be used safely during pregnancy

Answer:
If you're doctor has told you to take it then take it!

I can't remember about Canestan in oarticular but I'm pretty sure its safe. The pharmacy should be able to tell you.

It is VERY important that you get this sorted though as leaving it untreated could affect the baby.

Answer:
yes you can use the pessary but it does advise on the leaflet to insert with your finger and not the applicator, i used the same thing at about 9 weeks pregnant. they state the only one you shouldn't use is the oral tablet

Answer:
Don't take it yet! Check with your physician as it's better to be safe than sorry.

Answer:
NOT THE TABLET!! use the pessary and the cream

Answer:
TAKE NOTHING UNTIL YOU HAVE TALKED TO YOUR DOCTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Answer:

Answer:
